Who would have thought that a psychology degree and working at a dairy would have led me here? But it did. I’ve always been open to the changes and challenges life can present.

I studied NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) because I’ve always been curious about how our minds work and how awareness influences choice and behaviour.

I love helping women in business. I've been a director with my local Chamber of Commerce, the president of a business women's networking group, the president (and many other roles) of the Toronto chapter of the STC (Society for Technical Communication). I'm currently on the communications committee for the Plain Language Federation (a global initiative). There's also been local leadership roles - Chair of the Farmers' Market, President of the horticultural society, the downtown revitalization committee, Communications Chair for our village association, and for the last 6 years, I've hosted an outdoor art show on my property.

I had a writing company with a team of 8 which I had to let go when incoming jobs came to a standstill despite all our efforts. I contracted my services as a solopreneur and worked onsite in California, and in Breda, The Netherlands.

It was those contracting assignments where my clients would say what a great coaching style I had. A little surprised, I said that’s just my way to work with people. I never thought of it as coaching, but it was. Heaven knows I hired a few coaches over the years, but they weren’t what I needed. And that’s when I decided to become the business coach I wish I had.
